Sikorsky MH-60R Seahawk
Overview
The Sikorsky MH-60R Seahawk is the U.S. Navy’s primary multi-mission maritime helicopter for anti-submarine warfare (ASW), anti-surface warfare (ASuW), and a range of support missions from frigates, destroyers, and carriers. It is a naval member of the H-60 family, distinct from the U.S. Army’s UH-60 Black Hawk utility helicopter, and is optimized for shipboard operations with folding rotors and maritime mission systems.
The MH-60R combines a dipping sonar, sonobuoys, radar, electronic support measures, and the ability to employ torpedoes and air-to-surface weapons.
