Piper PA-14 Family Cruiser

The Piper PA-14 Family Cruiser is a four-place light aircraft developed from Piper’s postwar Cruiser line. Smithsonian documentation on the closely related PA-12 notes that Piper produced the four-seat PA-14 in 1948 with a 115-hp Lycoming engine. The Family Cruiser retained the high-wing, fabric-covered utility layout associated with Piper’s Cruiser family while adding cabin capacity for family and personal transportation. Because surviving aircraft can differ by engine, equipment and restoration history, performance and weight figures should be tied to a specific configuration rather than generalized across the family.
