Sikorsky CH-53K King Stallion

Overview

The Sikorsky CH-53K King Stallion is the U.S. Marine Corps' heavy-lift helicopter replacement path for aging CH-53E Super Stallions. Designed for substantially greater external payload, modern glass cockpits, and improved maintainability, the K-model supports ship-to-shore logistics, recovery of disabled vehicles and aircraft, and expeditionary sustainment. Three engines, a widened cabin, and advanced rotor and drivetrain design target hot-high and maritime environments typical of Marine expeditionary operations. As fleet introduction continues, the CH-53K is intended to anchor heavy-lift aviation for decades alongside tiltrotor and fixed-wing logistics aircraft.
